PAKATAN Harapan (PH) and Muda are tomorrow set to discuss seat allocation for the general election, according to DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.

He said details have been conveyed to Muda and the PH representatives for the meeting, while noting it could lead to some disappointment.

Loke said the negotiation process may be slow but he felt there was no obstacle for co-operation between the pact and PH.

“No matter what, it’s an ongoing process, there are no obstacles for co-operation with Muda,” he was quoted as saying at a Muda event in Negri Sembilan last night, live streamed on Facebook.

On Tuesday, Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz urged PH to speed the process up, adding that the two entities had yet to meet formally.

“So far, only Muar, held by Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, is on Muda’s ticket to contest,” she was quoted as saying in news reports.

It is understood that both sides will want to ensure incumbent seats are not interfered with.

Meanwhile, PH will want Muda to support the coalition’s nomination for prime minister and seek the approval of the PH presidential council before making any moves.

According to earlier reports, Muda is eyeing six or seven constituencies.

The Election Commission has set November 19 as polling day for the 2022 general election.

Nomination day is on November 5 and early polling will be held on November 15.

There will also be state elections in Pahang, Perlis and Perak. – October 22, 2022.
