MALAYSIA’S six mobile network operators (MNOs) are expected to execute their access agreements with Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) to lease the latter’s 5G network by the end of the month.

DNB chief operating officer Nasution Mohamed said the MNOs have signed the letter that essentially locks the terms of their respective agreements.

“The six MNOs will have until the end of this month to sign the access agreement,” he told reporters on the sideline of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission briefing in Kuala Lumpur today.

Earlier this month, it was reported that six MNOs – Celcom Axiata Bhd, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), Maxis Bhd and U Mobile Sdn Bhd – have reached agreements on the terms in the AAs.

On October 7, DNB also announced that four MNOs – Celcom Axiata, Digi Telecommunications, YTL Communications and TM – have executed share subscription agreements for a 65% equity stake in the company. – Bernama, October 18, 2022.
