CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow today proposed that the state assembly sitting slated for November 4 be held as scheduled before it is adjourned to make way for the general election (GE).
He said he would propose the motion at the state exco meeting on Wednesday.
“The notice for the sitting on November 4 has been issued and I propose that the sitting be held with a question-and-answer session before it is adjourned to a later date, subject to the polling date.
“The next state assembly sitting, including the tabling of the state budget, should be postponed until after GE15,” he told a press conference today.
Chow said this is also to enable civil servants and public agencies involved in the GE to focus on the tasks and not be disturbed by their assignments at the state assembly.
The Election Commission is expected to announce nomination and polling dates for the GE after its meeting on Thursday. – Bernama, October 17, 2022.
