INCUMBENT Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir Mohamad headed to Langkawi this morning to check on the flood situation on the island.
In a short video posted on social media, he expressed concern over the flood that hit the island yesterday.
“The situation is worrying,” the former prime minister added.
“I hope the residents and visitors in Langkawi will be alert and avoid getting into danger,” the nonagenarian added.
Heavy rain, which started at 4pm yesterday, caused flooding in several areas, including Mukim Ayer Hangat and Kuah, on the island.
According to Bernama, 44 people from 11 households were still in flood evacuation centres in Padang Mat Sirat. – October 17, 2022.
