MALAYSIA recorded 2,090 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, compared to 1,628 a day earlier. 

The CovidNow website showed there has been 4,861,226 infections since the start of the pandemic. 

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 638, followed by Kuala Lumpur (482) and Perak 162. 

Sabah logged 124 new cases, Negri Sembilan (58), Johor (54), Sarawak (67), Malacca (68), Penang (105), Putrajaya (35), Kedah (79), Pahang (40), Terengganu (25), Kelantan (45) and Perlis (6) and Labuan (2). 

Three more people died of the coronavirus, taking the total to 36,410. 

Two deaths of the deaths were reported in Johor and one n Kedah. 

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units stood at 33, of whom 16 required  respiratory support. – October 14, 2022.
