AN Al-Quran and Fardu Ain class teacher claimed trial in the Marang magistrate’s court today to a charge of causing hurt to a nine-year-old male pupil.
Ahmad Mursyidin Abdullah, 37, made the plea before magistrate Engku Nurul Ain Engku Muda.
He was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to the pupil by lifting and slamming him on a wooden chair, resulting in the boy fracturing his right leg.
The offence was allegedly committed at a primary school in Marang at 4.15pm last July 6.
The teacher was allowed bail of RM4,000 with one surety. The court set November 17 for mention.
He was also ordered to not intimidate the victim and witnesses in the case.
Deputy public prosecutor Nik Rabiatul Adawiyah Nik Soupy prosecuted, while Mursyidin was represented by lawyer Abdul Hayyi Salim. – Bernama, October 12, 2022.
