Election Commission meets Oct 20 to set GE15 date

THE Election Commission will meet on October 20 to set the date for the general election, said secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak. 

In a brief statement, he said the meeting, to be chaired by its chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh, will also set a date for the vacant Bugaya state seat in Sabah.

He said apart from announcing the general election date, the meeting will also set the dates for nomination and early voting.

The meeting will announce the rolls to be used for the general election.

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday announced the dissolution of parliament, paving the way for the general election.

Bugaya incumbent Manis Muka Mohd Darah died on November 17, 2020, due to medical complications, and had retained the seat for Parti Warisan during the September 2020 state elections. – October 11, 2022.
