PERAK Pakatan Harapan (PH) will announce on October 29 if Anwar Ibrahim will contest in the Tambun parliamentary seat in the next general election, it was reported today.

Perak PH chairman Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said a decision on the matter would be announced on that day during the state PH convention.

Anwar, who is PH chairman and PKR president, is widely tipped to be looking to contest away from his Port Dickson seat in the next polls.

Mujahid was reported by the New Straits Times as saying that Anwar would be able to give added value to strengthen the state PH if he contests in Tambun.

“He is welcomed to contest in Tambun in the next general election. It would be an honour for us here in Perak.

“On whether Anwar will contest in Tambun or not, that will be announced on that day during the PH convention,” he was quoted as saying.

The Tambun seat is currently held by Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who is youth and sports minister as well as Bersatu deputy president. – October 9, 2022.
