MALAYSIA recorded 1,627 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total number of infections to 4.85 million.

Active cases stood at 23,121, with 22,115 or 95.6% on home quarantine. 

According to KKMNow portal, 2,379 recoveries were recorded, raising the tally to 4.79 million since the pandemic began.

Four Covid-19 deaths were reported, two in Johor and one each in Pahang and Selangor. One was classified as dead on arrival.

Toll of fatalities stands at 36,398.

There are 963 patients being treated in hospitals, with 43 in intensive care units, of whom 27 require respiratory assistance. – October 9, 2022.
