KLANG MP Charles Santiago will not be giving his seat anytime soon.

“I do not intend to vacate my seat just yet,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

“I just got back from overseas; I will issue a longer statement on this tomorrow.”

He said his priority now is to complete the flood mitigation plans in his constituency.

“This is my focus right now as floods have huge consequences on peoples’ lives and livelihoods.

The Star reported yesterday that DAP could switch its candidate for the Klang parliamentary seat in the general election.

A party source who was quoted said Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah would be replacing Santiago.

“There are 28 branches in Selangor that are throwing their support behind Ean Yong to contest for the seat,” said the source.

DAP has 15 seats in Selangor. They are Sekinchan, Kuala Kubu Baru, Dusun Tua, Balakong, Seri Kembangan, Kinrara, Subang Jaya, Bukit Gasing, Kampung Tunku, Bandar Utama, Bandar Baru Klang, Pandamaran, Kota Kemuning, Banting, and Sungai Pelek. – September 28, 2022.

  • Charles is doing a good job in Klang. He is dedicated and passionate about makimg Klang a better place. The Klang people like him a lot. Why must DAP rock the boat w a newcomer. Ean Yong Hian can find a seat somewhere else.
