FORMER prime minister Najib Razak had received RM90 million to his AmIslamic Bank account in 2012, the Kuala Lumpur High Court heard today.

During the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial, Ambank’s Jalan Raja Chulan branch manager, R. Uma Devi, said about RM15 million was deposited into Najib’s account ending in 9694 on October 31, 2012.

She was reading her witness statement on transactions that went into Najib’s account.

Uma, who is 37th prosecution witness said another RM75 million was deposited into the same account on November 11 that same year.

She, however, did not specify the sources of the funds in her statement.

The prosecution in its opening statement claimed the sum of RM90,899,927.28, which was received in the account, came from Blackstone Asia Real Estate Partners.

This, they said, was a firm that was controlled by fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, through his associate Tan Kim Loong, also known as Eric Tan.

The prosecution has also stated that money from 1MDB amounting to RM2.28 billion entered Najib’s accounts through four separate transactions.

Uma also said that based on bank statements Najib had made several payments to companies, individuals and political parties more than once.

Najib is facing four charges of using his position as then prime minister to obtain bribes totalling RM2.3 billion from 1MDB funds and 21 charges of money laundering involving the same amount.

He is already serving a 12-year jail term after failing in his final appeal at the Federal Court in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case. – September 26, 2022.

  • HOW I GOT A LOAN FOR MY BUSINESS

Hi everyone, I saw comments from people who had already got their loan from Steve Wilson Loan firm. Honestly I thought it was a scam, and then I decided to make a request based on their recommendations. A few days ago, I confirmed in my personal bank account amounting to $580,000, which I requested for business. This is really good news and I am so happy that I advise all those who need a real loan and who are sure to reimburse to apply through their email: [email protected], They are legit loan lenders!
They are able to lend you a loan.
