2,070 new Covid cases, 3 deaths

MALAYSIA reported 2,070 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, compared to 2,245 cases the day before. 

The CovidNow website showed the total number of infections at 4,828,290 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 592, followed by Kuala Lumpur (392) and Perak (226).

Sabah logged 171 new cases, Negri Sembilan (117), Johor (46), Sarawak (102), Malacca (101), Penang (47), Putrajaya (32), Kedah (55), Pahang (47), Terengganu (18), Kelantan (52) and Perlis (6) and Labuan (5). 

Three virus deaths were reported yesterday – two in Johor and one in Perak. 

The death toll reached 36,345. 

The number of coronavirus patients in intensive care stood at 54, of which 33 required respiratory support. – September 24, 2022.
