PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has formed a committee to discuss Muda’s application to join the pact, its presidential council said.

In a statement, it said the committee will also discuss cooperation with Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) in the next general election.

“The committee will be made up of one representative from each component party in PH,” the council said in a statement.

“They are Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad from PKR, Steven Sim (DAP), Mohd Hasbie Muda (Amanah) and Ewon Benedick (Upko),” it said today.

The statement was jointly issued by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Upko president Wilfred Madius Tangau.

Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was previously reported as saying that the party wanted to join PH as one of the component parties to face the next general election and was open to holding official talks with the PH presidential council on the matter.

PSM chairman Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj also expressed interest to form an electoral pact with PH as they realised they cannot win seats on their own.

However, he said PSM has no plans to formally join PH. – September 21, 2022.
