MALAYSIA logged 1,572 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the total number of infections in the country to 4,817,251 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Three deaths – one in Selangor and two in Sabah – were recorded yesterday, taking the death toll to 36,308.
Selangor posted the most number of new infections with 476, followed by Kuala Lumpur (333) and Sabah (150).
Other states and territories with new cases were Perak (148), Penang (81), Malacca (65), Negri Sembilan (61), Sarawak (52), Johor (51), Kedah (41), Pahang (33), Terengganu (30), Kelantan (27), Putrajaya (15), Perlis (7) and Labuan (2).
Active cases dropped to 26,032 yesterday as 2,695 people recovered from the disease.
Among active cases, 24,797 (95.3%) were in home quarantine, 4 (0.1%) at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres, and 1,171 (4.6%) in hospitals.
There were 60 patients in intensive care, 37 of whom required respiratory assistance. – September 10, 2022.
