The cancelled Umno supreme council meeting, which was scheduled for tomorrow will now be on September 30, said Ahmad Maslan.

The Umno secretary-general said that the meeting had to be moved as Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob would be officiating the Malaysia games (Sukma) in Bangi tonight.

“The new date for the meeting is Friday, September 30, at 8pm, and this will be a full supreme council meeting,” he said.

The meeting on Saturday drew excitement as it was supposed to be presided by Umno’s top five leaders to discuss a date for the 15th General Election.

The top five Umno leaders refer to the president, deputy president and the three vice-presidents of the party.

Earlier Ismail, who is Umno vice-president, said the meeting of the top leaders would be held earlier before the tabling of Budget 2023 scheduled on October 7. – September 16, 2022.
