NEW Covid-19 cases yesterday increased to 2,431 yesterday, compared to 1,942 cases the day before. 

The CovidNow website showed the total number of infections stood at 4,811,327 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. 

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 720, followed by Kuala Lumpur (452) and Sabah (219).

Perak logged 122 new cases, Negri Sembilan (105), Johor (64), Sarawak (112), Malacca (82), Penang (108), Putrajaya (46), Kedah (100), Pahang (64), Terengganu (34), Kelantan (78) and Perlis (9) and Labuan (4). 

The Health Ministry reported virus deaths, one of which was dead on arrival. The fatalities were reported in Perak (3), Sabah (1) and Sarawak (1).

The death toll stood at  36,296.

Sixty-two Covid-19 patients were in intensive care, 40 of whom required respiratory support. – September 15, 2022.
