MALAYSIA recorded an increase in new Covid-19 cases yesterday to 1,847 compared to 1,483 cases a day earlier.
According to the CovidNow website, the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stood at 4,806,954 cases.
Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 598 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (340) and Sabah (135).
Perak logged 122 new cases, Negeri Sembilan (75), Johor (80), Sarawak (67), Malacca (48), Penang (63), Putrajaya (22), Kedah (88), Pahang (47), Terengganu (32), Kelantan (107), Perlis (16) and Labuan (7).
The Health Ministry also reported five Covid-19 deaths yesterday with one classified as dead on arrival, bringing the total to 36,285.
The deaths were reported in Perak (3), Johor (1) and Kedah (1).
The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) stood at 67, of which 45 required respiratory support. β September 13, 2022.
