SPECIAL Task Force on Jihad Against Inflation chairman Annuar Musa today said implementation of the Malaysian Family Cheap Sale Programme is running smoothly.

However, he said, there are some improvements that can be made to the programme.

These include increasing the number of stores and streamlining the price tags on premises participating in the programme, he said.

“Overall, the implementation (of the programme) throughout the country is going well and we hope that our target to implement it at 639 outlets and 20 campuses can be achieved by September 15,” he told reporters after visiting a supermarket that is participating in the programme in Kota Kinabalu today.

Annuar, who is communications and multimedia minister, said his visit to the supermarket was to observe whether the implementation of the programme was done according to the concept stipulated by the task force.

He said the task force hopes to implement the programme nationwide.

“This programme can be implemented at least once a week… what is important is that the people know about the programme and the items that are offered at discount prices,” he said.

“As such, we are working with Radio Televisyen Malaysia to help promote the programme.” – Bernama, September 11, 2022.
