THE use of masks on school premises – indoors and outdoors – is no longer mandatory, Senior Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin said.

However, the use of masks was still encouraged in schools, especially in crowded places, he said in a video clip posted on his official Facebook page.

“In addition, students who take the school bus are reminded to mask up at all times.

“Most importantly we must ensure the school environment is safe,” he said.

Radzi added more information regarding the use of masks in schools will be included in a media statement to be issued today.

He said this follows the announcement by the Health Ministry on September 7, which stipulated that the wearing of masks indoors is now optional. – Bernama, September 10, 2022.
