THE government has agreed to continue four projects in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, as well as in the Segamat and Mersing districts in Johor, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the implementation of the projects were decided at the East Coast Economic Region Development Council meeting held at the Kelantan Secretary’s Office in Kota Baru today.
He said the projects include the construction of East Coast Expressway Phase 3 from Gemuroh, Terengganu, to Pengkalan Kubor, Tumpat, Kelantan, over a distance of 147km, and Phase 2 of the Flood Mitigation Project in Rantau Panjang-Golok, both of which were approved with a cost of RM897 million.
“The government also agreed to the extension of Kuantan-Segamat Highway involving the route from Runchang to Simpang 3 Keratong, over 51km.
“The government is also developing towns at the Thailand border by building bridges in Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang and Tak Bai-Pengkalan Kubor,” he said during his opening speech at Kampung Laut Heritage Village today. – Bernama, September 9, 2022.
