IT won’t be easy for youth-based Muda to join the Pakatan Harapan (PH) pact as the process is not automatic and straightforward, Adam Adli Abd Halim said.
The PKR Youth wing chief said PH had many things to consider before accepting Muda, including the views of the grassroots.
“Any political party in this country can express its desire to join any political coalition that exists.
“In the context of PH, the decision still rests with the PH presidential council headed by Anwar Ibrahim.
“There are many prerequisites that need to be considered before a decision is reached. There are many paths that need to be taken apart from the council,” he said in a statement on Facebook last night.
According to Adam, specific discussions on Muda’s desire to join the coalition have yet to take place
PH consists of PKR, Amanah, DAP and Upko.
Yesterday, after a two-day conference, Muda announced its intention to join PH and expressed willingness to hold formal talks with the coalition’s leadership.
Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the proposal to join PH actually arose after the Johor elections.
In that polls, Muda had an understanding with DAP and Amanah but went against PKR in some seats, including the sole seat it won. – September 8, 2022.
