MALAYSIANS travelling to Taiwan from next Monday will now need to have a visa as the country has temporarily suspended visa-free entry for travellers from Malaysia and a dozen other countries.

The change was listed on Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Others on the list are: Singapore, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Brunei, the Philippines, Russia, Chile, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua.

Taiwan gave no reason for the temporary suspension but it came after the Taipei government on Monday said it would resume visa-free entry for travellers from countries it currently shared diplomatic ties with. – September 7, 2022.
