MUDA is keen to join Pakatan Harapan (PH), according to party president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

He said he and fellow leaders had been in informal discussions with their contemporaries in the opposition coalition.

“Initial talks about Muda joining PH have taken place, and our party is also open to holding official talks with its presidential council.

“Muda is willing to work with ‘friends’ who share similar principles of struggle,” Syed Saddiq told the media today, as the party holds conference in preparation for the next election.

The party is no stranger to working with PH, having reached an agreement with the coalition in the Johor elections to run for seven seats in the 56-seat assembly.

Muda secretary-general Amira Aisya Abd Aziz went on to win in Puteri Wangsa with a majority of 7,114 votes, seeing off five other candidates, including Ng Yew Aik (Barisan Nasional), Khairil Anwar Razali (Pejuang), Loh Kah Yong (Perikatan Nasional), Steven Choong (PBM) and Independent candidate Adzrin Adam.

Aside from Syed Saddiq’s Muar seat, Muda is targeting 15 more parliamentary seats nationwide, including in Sabah and Sarawak, according to Amira. – September 6, 2022.
