PAS has yet to finalise the number of parliamentary seats it intends to contest in the 15th general election, deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

He said the party leadership will have to discuss the matter before making a decision.

Responding to media reports that PAS has set its sights on 80 parliamentary seats in the next polls, Tuan Ibrahim said that was merely the figure for seats the party currently looking at.

“The party leadership will discuss the exact figure. Perikatan Nasional has yet to decide (seats it wants to contest). In any case, each party will be studying the seats it feels it has a chance of winning,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

He was commenting on PAS election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s statement yesterday that the party is targeting 80 parliamentary seats in the next polls.

The Kedah menteri besar said this was double the number of seats the party contested in the 2018 general election. – Bernama, September 5, 2022.
