Kim Jong-Nam murder trial moved to Shah Alam High Court

THE Kim Jong-Nam murder trial has been transferred from the Sepang magistrates’ court to the Shah Alam High Court, the StarOnline reported today.

Judge Harith Sham Mohamed Yasin allowed deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad’s application under Section 177A of the Criminal Procedure Code. He, however, did not fix a date for mention at the higher court. 

Kim was murdered at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 departure lounge on February 13. 

CCTV images, which have yet to be confirmed by the authorities, showed two women appearing to smear Kim with a cloth before he approached the airport authorities.

Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, have been charged with the murder of Jong-Nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, at klia2.

Jong-Nam was on his way to Macau where he was living in exile when he was killed by poison.

The murder sparked a diplomatic row between Malaysia and North Korea, resulting in both countries recalling their ambassadors. – May 30, 2017.
