MALAYSIA posted 3,206 recoveries against 2,636 fresh infections yesterday, further lowering the number of active cases in the country to 34,970.
This will be the fifth consecutive day that the recoveries has outnumbered new infections.
There were also 11 deaths reported yesterday, five of which were classified as dead on arrival (DOA).
Four deaths were registered in Johor, three in Selangor, and one each in Kedah, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak.

Perak, Sarawak and Selangor each claimed one DOA case.
Of the new infections, Selangor reported the most cases with 791, followed by Perak (283) and Sabah (265).
Other states and territories reporting new cases were Kuala Lumpur (231),Negri Sembilan (161), Kedah (124), Sarawak (120), Penang (112), Malacca (109), Johor (106), Kelantan (85), Putrajaya (82), Pahang (75), Terengganu (71), Labuan (11), and Perlis (10).
Among active cases, 33,500 (95.8%) people were under home quarantine, 24 (0.1%) at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres, and 1,379 (4.1%) at hospitals.
There were 67 patients in intensive care, 36 of whom required respiratory assistance. – August 25, 2022.
