AN advertisement for positions at Singapore’s Changi Airport has caused a stir with its offer of RM10,000 salaries.

A flyer shared on social media showed the airport is hiring sales and customer service staff and is willing to pay up to S$3,000 (RM9,700) for some of them.

Walk-in interviews are held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Johor Baru today at 9am to 5.30pm.

MCI Group of Companies, the recruitment agency, has verified the ad after people questioned the authenticity of the advertisement.

“This is a paid job advertisement published on The China Press Berhad, a Malaysian newspaper for the purpose of our overseas recruitment drive in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, that will be held this coming Friday, on 19 August 2022,” the recruiter said on Facebook.

“In regard to the job position(s( advertised, the working location is at Changi Airport, however we would like to clarify that our client (who shall not be named) is not Changi Airport Group.”

Singapore publication Mothership reported that the Changi Airport Group had stated that the tenants and vendors at the airport typically outsourced their recruitment.

There are currently 1.2 million Malaysians working in the republic. As the ringgit depreciates, more Malaysians are seeking jobs in Singapore for their attractive salaries. – August 19, 2022.
