2,863 new Covid cases, 6 deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday logged 2,863 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths, one of which was dead on arrival.

Three of the fatalities took place in Perak, and one each in Kedah, Sabah and Selangor, the GitHub database showed.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 900, followed by Kuala Lumpur (590) and Sabah (245).

Perak reported 193 cases, Kedah (130), Negri Sembilan (125), Johor (116), Malacca (115), Penang (106), Kelantan (98), Sarawak (69), Putrajaya (68), Terengganu (58), Pahang (42), Perlis (4), and Labuan (4).

There are 1,790 Covid-19 hospitalisations, 17 of them in intensive care and 38 on ventilators. – August 9, 2022.
