GABUNGAN Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will decide in October on the applications of some local parties to join the coalition, its chairman Hajiji Mohd Noor said.

Hajiji, who is also Sabah chief minister, said the applications were not discussed at the GRS meeting last week and would be brought up at the coalition meeting in October.

“We will decide on the applications at the October meeting,” he told reporters after presenting Sabah State Scholarships for Excellence in Kota Kinabalu today.

Last month, Hajiji reportedly said that four local parties had stated their wish to join GRS, but did not name them.

GRS currently comprises five parties, namely Sabah Bersatu, Parti Bersatu Sabah, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku, Sabah Progressive Party and United Sabah National Organisation.

Meanwhile, Hajiji said GRS had mobilised its election machinery in each parliamentary constituency in Sabah to meet with the people in facing the 15th general election. – Bernama, July 26, 2022.
