A PROPOSAL for a new agreement to replace the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63) is expected to be the focus of the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.
According to the order paper on the Parliament’s official website, the question will be raised by Mohd Azis Jamman (Sepanggar-Warisan) during Minister’s Question Time.

He also wants to know the implications for Sabah and Sarawak if MA63 is cancelled and replaced with a new agreement.
Also in the list is a question by Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim (Baling-BN) to the energy and natural resources minister on the ministry’s solution to recent flooding in his constituency.
During the questions for oral answers, Mohd Nizar Zakaria (Parit-BN) will pose a question to tourism, arts and culture minister on how the government plans to tackle haj by proxy (badal haj) scams.
There is also a question by Tengku Zulpuri Raja Puji (Raub-PH) to the finance minister on measures to address the country’s economic downturn, the sharp depreciation of the ringgit and the rising cost of living.
The sitting today will also focus on the tabling of the armed forces fund bill (amendment) 2022 for the first reading and debate on the independent police conduct commission bill 2020 for the second reading.
The Dewan Rakyat will sit until August 4. – Bernama, July 26, 2022.
