THE Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) will draw up new guidelines to ensure that the hardcore poor housing projects can be carried out this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Deputy Rural Development Minister I Abdul Rahman Mohamad said currently, there are no contractors who want to build houses for the hardcore poor due to price issues.

“Currently, each house is worth RM67,000 each, and no contractors are willing to build it,” he said during the question-and-answer session.
Abdul Rahman was replying to a supplementary question from Mohd Salim Sharif (Jempol-BN) on whether the ministry was planning to increase funding to complete housing valued at RM56,000 a unit.
Meanwhile, replying to a question from Noorita Sual (Tenom-PH), he said that the ministry has no problematic projects in Sabah, and always co-operates with the state government to ensure that any project is implemented according to plan. – Bernama, July 25, 2022.
