MOH reports 2,720 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA logged 2,720 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, of which five were imported transmissions, along with three deaths.

The latest figures mark a significant drop from the 4,816 cases reported on Saturday, while there are 48,252 active cases. Some 4,012 recoveries were logged in the past 24 hours.

Of the active cases, 96.6% are in home quarantine and 24 are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres.

Another 1,542 individuals or 3.2% are hospitalised, with 54 in intensive care units throughout the country.

Of the three deaths reported, two were pronounced dead on arrival.

The deaths were logged in Perak (2) and Selangor (1), and bring the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 to 35,914.

Malaysia has reported 4.59 million infections since the start of the pandemic. – July 25, 2022.
