MORE THAN 250 families living at the Sandakan rubbish landfill will be receiving aid throughout the fasting month following fundraising efforts by several charitable organisations.

Happy Caring Hearts, Streetfeeders of Kuala Lumpur, Medal4awesomeness and Stick it to Me, along with Sandakan locals, distributed rice, canned food, dates, biscuits and drinks to the families yesterday, according to The Star daily.

“I cant imagine how tough it is for them to live here,” said Happy Caring Hearts co-founder Jennifer Chua.

The report said that the families were mostly illegal immigrants or stateless people who have been living in the landfill area for 10 years. – May 29, 2017.
