MALAYSIA recorded an increase in new Covid-19 cases yesterday, to 3,902 compared to 3,080 cases the day before.
The CovidNow website showed the country has logged 4,629,963 infections since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Kuala Lumpur posted the highest number of new cases yesterday with 1,276, followed by Selangor (998) and Perak (294).
Sabah logged 234 new cases, Negri Sembilan (188), Johor (93), Sarawak (106), Malacca (106), Penang (178), Putrajaya (82), Kedah (126), Pahang (54), Terengganu (30), Kelantan (74) and Perlis (40) and Labuan (23).
Eight more people died of the coronavirus yesterday, one of whom were dead on arrival.
The fatalities were reported in Selangor (3), Negri Sembilan (2), Johor (1), Malacca (1) and Perak (1).
The death toll stood at 35,870.
The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units stood at 55. Thirty-nine of them required respiratory support. – July 20, 2022.
