MALAYSIA logged fresh Covid-19 cases above the 5,000 mark for the second day in a row yesterday with 5,047.
Three of the cases were imported.
This brought the total number of infections to 4,619,045 since the start of the pandemic.
On Friday, Malaysia logged 5,230 new coronavirus cases – the first time the figure had passed the 5,000 mark in three months.
Four deaths linked to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, one of which was dead on arrival.
Three of the deaths occurred in Selangor and one in Negri Sembilan.
The CovidNow portal showed 3,770 recoveries, taking the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 42,481.
Among the active cases, 40,923 were in home quarantine; 39 (0.1%) were treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres; 1,459 (3.4%) were hospitalised; and 60 in intensive care. – July 15, 2022.
