MALAYSIA recorded an increase of new Covid-19 cases yesterday at 4,098, compared with 3,934 a day earlier.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, Kuala Lumpur posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 1,485, followed by Selangor (1,069) and Negri Sembilan (276).
Perak logged 274 new cases, Johor (94), Sarawak (43), Malacca (142), Penang (160), Putrajaya (95), Kedah (99), Pahang (80), Terengganu (24), Kelantan (56), Perlis (11) and Labuan (9).
The new cases raises the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 4.61 million.
The Health Ministry also reported eight Covid-19 deaths yesterday with two classified dead on arrival.
The cases were reported in Kedah (3), Johor (1), Perak (1), Sarawak (1), Kuala Lumpur (1) and Putrajaya (1).
The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units stood at 53, with 35 on respiratory support. – July 15, 2022.
