DAILY Covid-19 infections rose for the third straight day as the Health Ministry reported 2,867 fresh cases yesterday.
The new additions took the total number of infections since the onset of the pandemic to 4,566,055.
Two virus-linked fatalities were registered yesterday, in Selangor, taking the death toll to 35,765.
The ministry’s GitHub repository showed, Kuala Lumpur logged the most number of new infections with 906, followed by Selangor (881) and Negri Sembilan.
Sabah reported 154 cases, Perak (143), Penang (119), Malacca (95), Johor (79), Putrajaya (72), Sarawak (68), Kedah (63), Pahang (50), Terengganu (25), Labuan (17), Kelantan (17) and Perlis (10).
The number of active cases grew to 29,434 yesterday, as 2,145 people recovered from the disease.
Among the active cases, 28,116 or 95.5%, were in home quarantine; 26 (0.1%) in low-risk quarantine centres; and 1,249 (4.4%) in hospitals.
Forty-three patients were in intensive care, 25 of whom require respiratory assistance. – July 1, 2022.
