NEW coronavirus cases rose to 2,025 in the past 24 hours, compared to 1,894 cases the day before, the Health Ministry reported.
The fresh infections took the total number of cases to 4,560,583.
The CovidNow website showed that Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest number of infections with 745, followed by Selangor (442) and Sabah (111).
Other states and federal territories with new patients were Penang (111), Perak (103), Negri Sembilan (83), Putrajaya (71), Johor (54), Malacca (54), Kedah (52), Sarawak (52), Pahang (31), Kelantan (25), Terengganu (20), Labuan (14) and Perlis (8).
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s GitHub logged four deaths yesterday, one of which was dead on arrival.
The deaths were reported in Johor, Perak, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur.
Since the pandemic erupted in March 2020, Malaysia has logged 35,758 Covid-19 deaths.
The fatality rate stood at 0.2% and the cumulative fatality rate, at 0.8%. – June 29, 2022.
