THOSE seeking to sell their vehicles can get the best deals at ezAuto. My where car dealers bid against each other for wheels that are up for sale.

Federation of Motor and Credit Companies Associations of Malaysia president Tony Khor said through this platform, the sellers will have the best choice of prices from the dealers.

He said for example, if a car is put up for sale at RM10,000, then the dealers will have to bid for the car.

“The bid starts at RM100 and can go up to RM500 or more. So, sellers will be getting more for their vehicles than the prices they have set,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

Khor said the platform was launched in 2020 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their services were put on hold.

He said they revived the platform six months ago, receiving an average of 80 vehicles up for sale daily.

“This platform is useful for those who want to sell their vehicles online,” he said.

Khor said 4,700 dealers under the federation nationwide can bid for the vehicles.

“Through the platform, dealers will be given equal opportunities to bid for the vehicles,” he said.

“This way, the seller doesn’t have to go through any third-party buyer and can go straight to the dealer.”

On the services provided, Khor said as soon as a customer registers on the website, they can start selling their vehicles.

He said the first step is a free car inspection and valuation to ensure the seller gets the best value.

“Within 24 hours the qualified vehicle examiner will contact the seller and meet them anywhere at their convenience,” he said.

“It could be at a supermarket or home, or they (seller) can even come for inspection at any of our 36 ezauto centres nationwide.

“We will then gather all the details and upload it on our marketplace the following day.”

Khor said once the vehicle specifications, checks and pictures are uploaded, their dealers will start the bidding.

“The bidding will go on for seven days. It will start from 10am to 3.30pm. If a bid comes on the first day, we will then inform the seller,” he said.

“Once the bidding ends, the seller will be given 48 hours to make a decision. There is no commitment as the seller can always cancel their sale.”

He said sellers can use this platform to test how much their vehicles are worth.

“If the seller put up their vehicle for sale at RM40,000 and they get a bid of RM43,000, they can always pull out if they are not interested. There are no charges and all these services are free,” he added. – June 24, 2022.
