2,425 new virus cases, 4 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 2,425 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 4,547,051.

The CovidNow website showed Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 1,055, followed by Kuala Lumpur (515) and Penang (148).

Other states and federal territories that reported infections were Sabah (125), Perak (113), Negri Sembilan (87), Sarawak (64), Putrajaya (64), Johor (59), Malacca (57), Kedah (54), Pahang (33), Kelantan (27), Terengganu (17), Perlis (6) and Labuan (1).

The Health Ministry’s GitHub data repository recorded four deaths yesterday.

One death each was reported in Johor, Negri Sembilan, Perak and Sabah.

The virus death toll reached 35,741.

The fatality rate stood at 0.2% and the cumulative fatality rate, at 0.8%. – June 23, 2022.
