1,921 new Covid cases, 2 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 1,921 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4,544,626

The CovidNow website showed Selangor posted the highest number of infections with 714, followed by Kuala Lumpur (521) and Penang (125).

Other states and federal territories with new cases were Perak (98), Sabah (96), Negri Sembilan (69), Johor (63), Kedah (52), Sarawak (47), Putrajaya (37), Malacca (32), Pahang (23), Kelantan (19), Terengganu (14), Labuan (7) and Perlis (4).

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed two deaths occurred yesterday, once each in Johor and Selangor.

Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the virus has killed 35,737 people in the country.

The fatality rate stood at 0.2% and the cumulative fatality rate, at 0.8%. – June 22, 2022.
