THE National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children will be open for five days, from tomorrow to Friday, to vaccinate children aged five to 11.

Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said the vaccination drive is in conjunction with the 2022 National Immunisation Week on June 16, themed “Lifelong Protection for All”.

“The opening of these vaccination slots is for parents who now wish to get the Covid-19 vaccine for children who missed it before, and (it is being due to the) concern of the Health Ministry (MOH) on the safety of children from vaccine-preventable diseases,” he said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Azmi said parents can have their children vaccinated without appointments at clinics under the MOH from tomorrow till Friday.

He said distribution will be daily facility stock-based, and if the day’s stock has run out, parents can return the next day.

Dr Noor Azmi said parents who have just learned about the Covid-19 vaccination, or have just decided to allow their children to get vaccinated, are encouraged to take up the opportunity.

He said for children about to be five years old, their parents can still book vaccination appointments through the MySejahtera app. – Bernama, June 19, 2022.
