THE Shuttle Tebrau, which travels to and from Johor Baru Sentral in Johor and Woodlands MRT station in Singapore, resumed operations today after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong said the resumption of the service is well-received as almost 70,000 tickets were sold in only one month.

The move will also reduce congestion on the Johor-Singapore Causeway, he added.

“For the initial stage, we are targeting only 240 passengers (a trip) in the first week as we need to coordinate certain things such as MySejahtera and other features.

“We are targeting 7,000 passengers to use this service a day when it is fully operational,” he told a press conference, after flagging off the Shuttle Tebrau train at JB Sentral in Johor Baru, Johor, today.

The service was suspended on March 24, 2020.

The Shuttle Tebrau will offer 31 trips for the JB Sentral-Woodlands-JB Sentral routes a day, of which 18 are for the JB Sentral-Woodlands route.

Train services start at 5am and end at 10.45pm at JB Sentral, and start at 8.30am and end at 11.45pm at Woodlands. Frequency will be at 30 minutes during peak hours.
