MALAYSIA reported 2,033 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, the CovidNow website showed.
There were five virus-linked deaths, three of which were dead on arrival.
The new cases brought the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 4.5 million.
Active cases now stand at 24,577, while 35,730 have died from the virus.
Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 685 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (551) and Penang (167).
Perak reported 116 cases, Sabah (99), Negri Sembilan (94), Johor (68), Kedah (62), Sarawak (38), Pahang (28), Malacca (59), Putrajaya (37), Kelantan (17), Terengganu (8) and Perlis (4).
No cases were reported in Labuan.
The GitHub database showed that Perak reported three deaths while Johor reported two.
There are currently 959 Covid-19 hospitalisations with 14 people in the intensive care unit, while 18 are on ventilators. β June 17, 2022.
