MALAYSIA recorded 1,571 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative number of infections since the pandemic began to 4.5 million, the Health Ministry said.
There was only one imported infection detected from the 1,571.
For two days in a row, recoveries outpaced new infections, with 1,887 people recuperating from Covid-19.
The total number of recoveries in the country now stands at 4.5 million cases.
The ministry added that there are currently 22,395 active cases in Malaysia, with 95.4%, or 21,375 under home quarantine and only 18 people, or 0.1% being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres.
It said only 4.3% or 976 people are being treated in hospitals, with 26 warded in intensive care units nationwide.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (126), followed by Johor (94) and Sabah (67).
Meanwhile, health authorities recorded one death, taking the Covid-19 fatality toll to 35,712.
The only fatality was recorded in Perak.
There were 129 deaths last month and 564 in April. β June 13, 2022.
