15 Malaysians hurt in Saudi Arabia bus accident

THE Foreign Ministry said a bus carrying 15 Malaysians skidded and went off the road in Muzdalifah, Saudi Arabia, yesterday, leaving all 15 Malaysians injured.

The victims are employees of a construction company involved in a track-and-railway service project in Makkah, it added.

The ministry said all the victims were taken to Al-Noor Specialist Hospital and King Faisal Hospital for treatment.

“Two of the victims suffered serious fractures to the neck and shoulders, while the others received outpatient treatment and were allowed to return home,” it said in a statement today.

The ministry said Saudi Arabian authorities are conducting further investigation into the accident.

The Consulate General of Malaysia in Jeddah will continue to monitor the progress of the case and provide appropriate consular assistance, it added. – Bernama, June 10, 2022.
