AIRASIA Aviation Group Ltd (AAAGL), the aviation arm of Capital A Group, has reaffirmed its commitment to resolve all refund requests related to the Covid-19 pandemic as soon as possible.
AAAGL in a statement today said it has completed more than 99% of all customer queries and will complete the remainder in the coming months.
AirAsia X (AAX) and Thai AirAsia X, two medium- to long-haul affiliate airlines, also have plans in place to compensate those affected by the unprecedented flight disruptions over the past two years.
Capital A Group CEO Tony Fernandes said AirAsia has already refunded almost all of its affected customers.
“Now that travel restrictions have been removed in major markets, many of our guests have utilised their credit shells to start travelling again.
“AAX was in a much more difficult situation when international borders were closed; it was completely grounded for more than two years, with limited cash flow.
“However, now that we are flying again, we are paying back guests with outstanding credit (via) travel vouchers equivalent to the amount owed.”
The majority of affected customers have received their travel vouchers, totalling more than 155,000 customers.
AAX said it aims to issue all remaining travel vouchers in the coming weeks. – Bernama, June 10, 2022.
