TWO Malaysian schools are shortlisted for the World’s Best School Prizes.

SK Kempadang in Kuantan, Pahang, is nominated in the Innovation category, while SMK Kampong Jawa in Klang, Selangor, is nominated in the Addressing Challenges category.

T4 Education said the awards, launched in collaboration with Yayasan Hasanah, Templeton World Charity Foundation, Accenture and American Express this year, offer a total cash prize of US$250,000 (RM1 million).

Top three finalists will be selected in each of the five categories, namely Addressing Challenges, Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation and Supporting Healthy Living.

Winners of each category will be announced at World Education Week from October 16 to 21, and receive US$50,000.

Vikas Pota, founder of T4 Education and World’s Best School Prizes, said the shortlisted schools are selected through inspirational stories that changed student lives, brought change to the community.
