AT least seven people were confirmed dead and 46 others injured in a blaze that broke out at an office building in the south-eastern city of Daegu, South Korea, today, said the Yonhap news agency, as quoted by Xinhua.
The incident occurred at 10.55am local time and engulfed the seven-storey office building in Daegu, about 300km south of the capital Seoul.
Seven people died, while 46 others suffered smoke inhalation-related injuries. Dozens fled the building.
About 50 fire engines and 160 firefighters were despatched to the scene. The blaze was extinguished in 20 minutes.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities are not ruling out arson. β Bernama, June 9, 2022.
