1,518 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths

MALAYSIA has recorded 1,518 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4.52 million, the Health Ministry reported.

The ministry’s CovidNow website showed that Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 564 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (390), Penang (89), Negri Sembilan (65), Sabah (65), Sarawak (60), Perak (59), Johor (57), Kedah (52), Malacca (38), Kelantan (26), Terengganu (17), Putrajaya (16), Pahang (12), Perlis (6) and Labuan (2).

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s GitHub data showed that six Covid-19 deaths were recorded yesterday, of which three were classified dead on arrival.

The deaths were reported in Perak (2), Selangor (2), Kedah (1) and Negri Sembilan (1).

Since the pandemic, Malaysia has recorded 35,705 Covid-19 deaths.

The fatality rate is 0.1% and the cumulative fatality rate is 0.8%. – June 9, 2022.
